The New Orleans Pelicans pulled off a trade this weekend that landed them Tyshawn Taylor, but the end result of the trade appears to be a situation where a child begs for a toy, buys it and then realizes they don’t really want it. The Pelicans accepted Taylor in the trade, but they may end up cutting him in the very near future.

According to John Reid of The Times Picayune, the Pelicans are unsure of what to do with Taylor and may end up waiving him if they can find a way to make it financially beneficial to them.

"Pelicans coach Monty Williams appeared unsure about what Taylor’s role would be with the team. With an expiring contract, the Pelicans could have other plans for Taylor that could include buying out the remaining portion of his contract that’s roughly about $400,000."

The Pelicans are looking to acquire a big man in some way, and if they were to dump Taylor it would open up a roster spot for them to trade for or sign a big man on the market.
