The Lakers got some grim news about Jordan Farmar yesterday, but things look a little brighter for the oldest player in the league. Steve Nash has only played in six games this season, and has sat out the rest with nerve damage stemming from a leg fracture from last season.

It has been sad to see one of the best point guards of all-time end his career battling injuries, and it wouldn’t be right if this is the way he went out. Mike D’Antoni spoke to the media after the Lakers’ loss to the Heat on Thursday, and he brought some good news:

If Kobe Bryant can come back in early February, then we may be set to witness some beautiful basketball. When Steve Nash was traded to the Lakers two summers ago, many basketball fans were excited to see Nash, Bryant, and Pau Gasol play together. All are smart basketball players, and they could be deadly in a pick and roll. Injuries prevented us from seeing it the last two seasons, but they could show us a glimpse of what could have been in the final stretch of the season.
