The Atlanta Hawks have come out of almost nowhere to own the three-seed in the Eastern Conference and line themselves up nicely for a little playoff run. The team seems to be jelling together and the wins continue to pile up. But while times are good now for the Hawks, they lost Jeff Teague last night and the word on his ankle is mixed.

While x-rays came back negative for any serious damage to Teague’s ankle, the Hawks still haven’t set a timetable for his return to the team.

Teague has been a nice contributor for the Hawks and has helped them stay afloat when many in the NBA had written them off. When Atlanta missed out on Dwight Howard, everyone in the league stopped caring about them, but despite being a team no one is watching, the Hawks have snuck into the three-seed in the East.

Without Teague in the lineup, the Hawks could end up struggling and they may fall back in the standings. They have the three-seed, but it’s not a solid grip and Atlanta couldn’t have picked a worse time to suffer an injury to a major player.
