Eddie Guerrero

The Guerrero Family have been involved with professional wrestling for decades. Each one of them left their own mark on not only the industry, but the fans who watched and cheered for them day in and day out. Eddie Guerrero is hands down my favorite professional wrestler of all-time.

Not only because we share the same heritage, but how he was inside and outside of the ring. It’s hard for me to explain, but it was like Guerrero was the perfect package when you thought about what a professional wrestler should be. When I heard that Eddie passed away, I’m not going to lie I was upset.

I’ve been watching him faithfully for years and always cheered for the guy even when he was a heel with whatever company he was wrestling for. There’s no doubt in my mind that Eddie could still be performing if he were still alive. Now I could go on and on and on about Eddie Guerrero, but I’m pretty sure you viewers don’t want to end up reading a book.

So let’s get to the point of this article, shall we? Former WWE and TNA wrestler, Nephew of Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero sat down with Afterbuzz TV.

Chavo talked about a couple things during this one hour and thirty minute interview. He talked about Dave Batista’s return to the WWE, shared a story about John Cena but something that’s always talked about is his Uncle. One of the greatest wrestlers to lace up a pair of boots.

Here’s what he had to say about Eddie Guerrero:

"“[Eddie] was told he was a great performer, was always really really good. But he was told, ‘You’re a cruiserweight. You’ll always be a cruiserweight.” And then when he left and got clean and sober and then came back, the fans just related with him so much and it was undeniable. They had to use him. They had to push him and he became who he was. When he passed, I would be walking in the airport and people woudl stop and look at me and hug me. They would give me a hug. I remember a TSA agent one time looked at my ID, looked up and looked at me. He didn’t say anything he just grabbed me and hugged me.” Chavo via NoDQ.com."

He also talked about Eddie’s daughter Raquel Diaz. Diaz is apart of the NXT Roster and has been with the company for a little while now. She was released last year but brought back and has been working with the business ever since.

Here’s what he said about his little cousin Raquel Diaz:

"“It’s really cool to see her follow the footsteps of the family. I have given advice and I’m always here for her. I don’t want to coddle her because she needs to do it. But she could call me an day and time and place and I’d be there for her. I just want to see her succeed. She’s got that Guerrero blood in her and people tell me that she’s really, really good.” Guerrero said about Raquel Diaz."
