3-star athlete Jarrell Owens has flipped his commitment from the Texas Christian Horned Frogs to the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

The 6’3, 235-pound Owens attends Palestine High School in Palestine, Texas and projects to be either a strong-side defensive end or a jumbo running back.

Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy confirmed the news (well, kind of).

Owens originally committed to TCU way back in June after he camped with Horned Frogs and earned an offer from head coach Gary Patterson. He seemed like a solid TCU commit, but after taking an official visit to Stillwater, Oklahoma this weekend, he decided to flip his commitment.

Owens is considered the 39th ranked athlete, the 56th best prospect in Texas and the 444th best overall prospect according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Owens also held an offer from the Texas Tech Red Raiders, among others.
