The Kansas City Chiefs made a trade with the San Francisco 49ers during the season to swap one disappointing wide receiver to another. The Chiefs shipped Jonathan Baldwin off to San Francisco, while the 49ers unloaded former first-round pick A.J. Jenkins to the Chiefs.

Jenkins, who is in his third year in the NFL, had some positive flashes after joining the Chiefs, and ESPN’s Louis Riddick said on NFL Insiders that Kansas City is “very excited about” the wide receiver entering the offseason.

With his speed and at just 24 years old, Jenkins is a very intriguing wide receiver prospect.

Kansas City is still expected to add some pass catchers in the offseason as they look to get more weapons for quarterback Alex Smith, but if Riddick is correct then there is a real chance that Jenkins could push for a starting spot opposite Dwayne Bowe in 2014.
