The Cleveland Cavaliers are desperately trying to save face after being blitzed by negative press in the last few weeks. The team can’t win, Luol Deng is wishing he was still in Chicago and Kyrie Irving is thinking about leaving the team as soon as he possibly can.

All of this is leading to trade rumors that will allow the Cavs to fix things and two names that have come up a lot are both Dion Waiters and Alonzo Gee. Waiters has been mentioned almost daily in trade rumors with the consensus now being that the team needs to trade him to fix things with Irving.

Gee is a name that hasn’t been as popular as Waiters but is just as likely to be moved. With Luol Deng in town, Gee has fallen out of the rotation and is trapped on the bench. Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders notes that the two could very likely be gone by the time both the deadline and the Draft roll around.

"The two names mentioned most around the league are second year guard Dion Waiters and veteran forward Alonzo Gee. Waiters and lead guard Kyrie Irving has not meshed well together and the Cavs seem to be accepting that moving Waiters has to happen. The Cavs could hold the line if the offer don’t improve and try and move Waiters around the draft or in free agency, but if they can make a move that returns a good asset they seem open to it."

Waiters would be a great addition on most teams in the NBA but he’s far more likely to be moved closer to the draft, especially if the Cavs plan on firing their current GM. Gee may be moved to a contender before the deadline but both seem to have their days in Cleveland numbered.
