Richard Sherman drew the attention. The rest of the secondary drew the accolades. Malcolm Smith won Super Bowl MVP. But it was the pass rush that truly ruined Peyton Manning‘s night in Super Bowl 48.

Tying a bow on what was an outstanding season with the Seattle Seahawks, Michael Bennett hurried Manning four times during the Super Bowl, second to only Cliff Avril (according to ProFootballFocus). That contribution, combined with his play all season, puts Bennett in line for a larger payday than the $5 million he made in 2013.

Bennett insists that he wants to return to Seattle in 2014 and beyond…with the required “it’s a business” qualifier, of course. Quotes from ProFootballTalk.com:

"We can go back and win a Super Bowl again with all these guys. It’s a business but I definitely want to be back.”"

In other words, Bennett plans to be back right up until the moment that a team like the Chicago Bears offers him big-time money that he simply cannot turn down.

For all the talk of the Legion of Boom, which was well-deserved, the Seahawks also reminded the rest of the league how important line play is, especially the ability to get pressure from the front four. Bennett will draw massive interest as a free agent.
