Reports have surfaced that the Green Bay Packers have made a big addition to their coaching staff. According to Pete Roussel of CoachingSearch.com, former Illinois Fighting Illini head coach Ron Zook has agreed to join Mike McCarthy in Lambeau.

Zook has six years of previous NFL coaching experience, with the Pittsburgh Steelers (special teams coach), Kansas City Chiefs (secondary coach) and New Orleans Saints (defensive coordinator).

During his time as the defensive coordinator in New Orleans, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy served as the offensive coordinator, so the two began building a close working relationship back in 2000.

There is no word on what position Zook will serve on the Packers coaching staff, but we should learn that information when an official announcement is made by the team.
