With the 2014 Winter Olympics underway, we are beginning to learn more about the athletes who will be competing in the Sochi Games and representing the red, white and blue of the United States.

For fans of the NFL and Minnesota Vikings, there is a connection worth noting to Team USA.

United States bobsledder Aja Evans, which is pronounced like “Asia” the continent, is the sister of Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Fred Evans.

Evans also cometed in the Olympic trials in the shot put for the 2008 Olympics, while being a track and field athlete in college at the University of Illinois.

It is safe to say there are some great athletic bloodlines in the Evans family.

Evans will serve as the brakeman for pilot Jamie Greubel in the Team USA No. 2 sled during the competition in Sochi.
