Houston Texans are following Johnny Manziel on Twitter

Everybody in Houston better batten down the hatches because the Houston Texans official twitter account is now following the official twitter account of Johnny Manziel. This either makes them a twitter couple or is the most irrelevant news concerning Manziels draft status ever.

We’re hoping it means they’re a twitter couple, because that would be so cute. CBSSports noticed Manziel’s new follower and reported it to the world.

This can either be blown out of proportion or taken for what it probably means. In this age of Twitter, following someone on the social media service does not contractually bind you to them. It does mean you can keep an eye on them, even when they tweet things and quickly delete them.

Manziel’s off-field behavior rose eyebrows last summer at Texas A&M and it’s something NFL teams are keeping an eye on, which is why the Texans likely followed him.

That, or this is the most desperate attempt to get a prospect to like them — ever.
