The NFL has been playing games in London, England for years now. There has been talked, as far-fetched as it may be, of a future NFL franchise in London or even potentially a Super Bowl.

Alex Horne, the general secretary of the English Football Association, told the Times of London that they “owe it” to themselves to pursue “another tenant,” possibly referring to an NFL franchise. He then says they could follow that up by pursuing hosting the NFL’s biggest game, the Super Bowl, at Wembley Stadium.

“It’s football’s home, England’s home first and foremost. If we could find another tenant that fitted in and worked I would go for it. We owe it to ourselves to see if it would work. Then we can get the Super Bowl,” Horne said.

The biggest issue for English soccer fans is the damage caused to the field, which Horned downplayed.

“The damage to the pitch is not so big with Desso turf,” he said.
