The Miami Heat have been looking at making possible deals at the trade deadline this year as the team is still looking for ways to make sure they show no weaknesses in the postseason. They’re on shaky ground when it comes to certain areas of the their roster, but the team is determined to fortify as much as possible.

One such move the team could make is to go after Ben Gordon in the coming weeks. Heat beat writer Ira Winderman states that the March 1st buyout deadline is likely more important than the trade deadline is to Miami, as they can grab a veteran off the market and still have them be eligible for the postseason.

Chris Anderson was this type of player for the Heat last and and was instrumental in winning a title.

Ben Gordon is a name Winderman brings up as possibly having the same impact in 2014. Of course, the Bobcats — or whoever has Gordon at the time — would need to buy him out to make any of this possible.

Caron Butler has been mentioned as a possible March 1st addition as well, but it appears the Heat are serious about adding a player before the end of the season.
