The Dallas Cowboys are having to get creative to find ways to get under the cap again this year. That includes potentially cutting long time face of the franchise on the defensive side DeMarcus Ware and many expect oft-injured wide receiver Miles Austin to be cut as well.

“We’re still gathering all of our information and getting the lay of the land,” executive vice president Stephen Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Obviously, DeMarcus had a hell of a career, but when we’re in the cap situation that we’re in and obviously counting as much as he is obviously you have to look at it along with several others.

He basically reiterated the same sentiment for the wide receiver Miles Austin.

“Great career and he has a big cap number and we have to take a look at it,” he said.

There is still a chance that they could renegotiate contracts to keep one or both of the players, though jones said he had no plans to meet with their agents during his trip to the scouting combine.
