Center Dwight Howard returned to the Staples Center for the first time since leaving the Los Angeles Lakers for the Houston Rockets in free agency during the summer when the Lakers hosted the Rockets on Wednesday night.

When Howard, who forced his way out of Orlando and was traded by the Magic to the Lakers in a four-team deal before the 2012-13 season, was introduced, Lakers’ fans let him have it, showering him with boos.

The boos continued throughout the first half, but they really didn’t seem to bother Howard.

Howard went off on his former team. He scored 14 points on six-of-10 shooting from the field and two-of-six shooting from the free throw line, grabbed 10 rebounds, blocked three shots, recorded two steals and dished out an assist, leading the Rockets to a huge 64-43 halftime lead.

However, one Lakers fan got the best of Howard, sticking his hand out for a high five and quickly pulling it in before Howard connected on the high five.
