There is a huge hangup in a potential deal between the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers that would send Lakers’ big man Jordan Hill to the Nets.
The Nets’ salary cap is so high that if they do make a deal for Hill, who is making $3.5 million this year, will actually cost them about $17 million.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Nets are willing to spend that money to improve the team.

The Lakers, however, are trying to see if they can’t get more than the Disabled Players’ Exception the Nets are willing to give them.
Lakers have been engaged in conversations elsewhere on Jordan Hill too, sources tell Yahoo Sports.

The Nets are close to finalizing a deal that would net them Kings’ guard Marcus Thornton in exchange for guard Jason Terry and big man Reggie Evans.
With Sacramento deal and absorbing Hill into Disabled Player Exception, Nets payroll and tax would reach $210 million or so.

Despite the Lakers’ struggles, Hill has had a nice season, averaging 8.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
