When Tim Duncan’s name came up int he midst of trade rumor talk on Tuesday, it wasn’t because the Spurs were thinking about moving the best player the franchise has ever had, it was because retirement rumors were starting to surface.

Former head coach George Karl said on ESPN that he was hearing whispers that Duncan was going to call it a career after the season, but the Spurs star has come forth to refute that claim.

Per Mike Monroe from SpursNation:

"“I’d like to know who he talked to,” Duncan said. “I don’t know what I’m going to do so I don’t know how he knows what I’m going to do.”Duncan said he has given no thought to his future plans.“I don’t worry about that stuff,” he said. “It will take care of itself.”"

While he may not be retiring, it’s unlike that he’s not doing so only so a planned retirement tour can be laid out. Duncan has always been a quiet star and rarely draws attention to himself — well, unless you accuse him of wanting to retire.
