The NBA trade deadline brings out solid, fact based rumors that are well sourced and make a lot of sense. But not every rumor is that way and some seem wild and outrageous to consider, even if they may make a little bit of sense. One such trade that may be getting kicked around is one that would see the Golden State Warriors re-acquire point guard Jarrett Jack in a package that sends the Cleveland Cavaliers Harrison Barnes.

NBA scribe Ric Bucher states that a source tells him the Warriors aren’t closing the door on the idea of trading for Jack to get him back on their roster for depth.

"The Warriors are still looking to see if they can upgrade their core without laying complete waste to what they’ve already built. Don’t close the door on a possible return of Jarrett Jack, one source said, suggesting that the Cavs would help their campaign to retain Kyrie Irving by acquiring Harrison Barnes, who Irving stumped for before the draft."

The trade may seem lopsided, but it likely wouldn’t be a straight-up sort of deal. The Warriors need guard depth and have been open to moving Barnes this month. Cleveland needs a guy like Barnes to make Kyrie Irving happy and could use Barnes talents.

Golden State said they’d only move Barnes in a blockbuster deal, but we can’t believe anything an NBA GM says in the heat of trade rumor season.
