The NBA trade deadline is this afternoon which means that plenty of teams will be making deals or at least on the phone trying to make deals up until the very last minute possible. One team fielding plenty of calls are the Los Angeles Lakers.

They already shipped Steve Blake to the Golden State Warriors and seem poised to make at least one more deal before the deadline passes. According to Ramona Shelburne from ESPNLosAngeles.com, the Lakers are looking to move Jordan Hill and both the Brooklyn Nets and New Orleans Pelicans are considered the favorites to get him.

Charlotte has already swung and missed on a few trades this week, which may motivate them to win the Jordan Hill sweepstakes. Still, the Nets seem to have no problem going way into the tax to build a winner this year and turn things around. Adding Hill will likely do both, as his giant salary is going to significantly dent the luxury tax but also provide Brooklyn with a valuable big to work with.
