The NBA trade deadline is approaching rapidly as we have just hours to go before deals can no longer be made. The Golden State Warriors have been a team to watch in terms of activity, as they’ve been rumored to be interested in making more deals at the deadline.

Golden State made a surprise trade on Wednesday night when they acquired Steve Blake from the Los Angeles Lakers and it appears that they may want to trade Harrison Barnes. But you can’t believe everything you hear, as Zach Lowe from Grantland notes that the Dubs are nowhere near a deal to trade Barnes to the Cleveland Cavaliers, despite there being reports out there suggesting otherwise.

While you can’t believe everything you see reported, you can’t always blame the reporter who did the reporting. Teams use the media ally he time to send smokescreens and to scare teams they’re really dealing with into caving. While Barnes has been mentioned in rumors, that hardly means he’s moving and Lowe has reminded us of that.
