The Minnesota Vikings lack a quarterback who is capable of taking their offense to the next level, so they will be spending the offseason looking to bolster the position and add a player that can get the ball to their playmakers on the outside and take some pressure off of running back Adrian Peterson.

During an appearance on the NFL Network Monday morning, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer commented on the Vikings need for a quarterback and said that the team is working hard to find one.

We are going to get some quarterbacks, obviously those two guys (Matt Cassell and Josh Freeman) are free agents and Ponder is still on the roster,” Zimmer said.

“But we have to have a quarterback, so we are going to have to find some and that is why we are out here looking so hard and why we’ll continue to look in free agency. We’ll find a guy.”

Whether the Vikings address their quarterback need in free agency or the NFL Draft remains to be seen, but it seems all but certain that the team will not be turning to any of the signal-callers currently on their roster to start next season.
