Golfer Steve Elkington makes Michael Sam gay joke on Twitter

A lot of people are paying attention to Missouri defensive end Michael Sam at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis as he embarks on a journey to become the first openly gay player in NFL history. He has received a lot of support but still there are those detractors and homophobes who don’t think it is right.
One GOP lobbyist wants to introduce legislation to ban gay players from the NFL. Today, golfer Steve Elkington made an unwise tweet making a gay joke about Sam at the combine competing in a “hand bag” toss.
He seems to be defending the tweet for now anyways, though saying he is “for Sam” after that Tweet doesn’t necessarily add up.
But don’t forget, Elkington had to apologize last summer for a racist tirade on Twitter. So basically this isn’t anything out of the ordinary and Elkington is a piece of scum anyways.
