HIGH FIVE/low five

Daily Fantasy can be quite the grind!  Let us do the grinding for you with “High Five/Low Five”.  Each day we help put you in the money by presenting you with FIVE of the “top-tier” plays, as well as a quick list of FIVE “value plays”.  San Antonio Spurs’ SF Kawhi Leonard flies high as Sunday’s top Daily Fantasy Basketball play.

Let’s rip it up.

HIGH FIVE:

Point Guard: Goran Dragic, PHX ($8,500): It’s a terrific matchup in an expected high scoring matchup vs. the Atlanta Hawks for Dragic tonight.  Atlanta ranks just 26th at defending the PG over the past few weeks and Vegas has set the over/under at 217, both of which should allow Dragic to get the 40 FPs or so he’ll need to achieve value and perhaps then some.

Shooting Guard: Victor Oladipo, ORL ($7,100): Oladipo has averaged over 30 FPs in his last five games, and has a great matchup  against the Philadelphia 76ers, who’ve been atrocious at defending the SG position for most of the season.  Last time out against Philadelphia, Oladipo put together a nice performance, good for 33.7 FPs, and should have no problem replicating that success again tonight in Orlando.

Small Forward: Kawhi Leonard, SA ($6,000): As usual, Durant is likely to be the highest scorer of the night, but if the price scares you away, Leonard represents a strong play.  He’ll be facing off against the Dallas Mavericks, who’ve allowed the second most FPs to opposing SFs in the past two weeks.  Leonard has been playing well since his return from injury, averaging over one FP per minute in 30 minutes per game.  With another 30 minutes or more in his log tonight, Leonard should be a lock to achieve value.

Power Forward: Tim Duncan, SA ($8,300): It’s a classic battle of old Western Conference foes tonight in San Antonio, as Dirk Nowitzki and his Dallas Mavericks come to town.  Duncan has played well recently and always seems to get up for the bigger games.  Dallas is middle of the pack vs. PFs and this game should be both high scoring and competitive.  Duncan will need 41.5 FPs for value this evening and should get close.  I also like Thaddeus Young of the Philadelphia Sixers in a bounce back game vs. Orlando.

Center: Nikola Vucevic, ORL ($7,300): Vucevic was my top play of the night just a few days ago against the Sixers, when he put up 47.6 FPs.  He may not hit that number again, but either way, he’s a good bet for value and that’s really all you can ask for.

low five:

Point Guard: Tony Wroten, PHI ($5,500): On a short slate, there are just some positions where there is not a lot of value to be had.  I’m not really trusting C.J. Watson tonight for the minimum salary, but for a couple grand more, I like Wroten.  He’ll need 27.5 FPs for value tonight and has been been averaging over 25 in his last four games, including 24 FPs the other night against Orlando.  I’m thinking Wroten gets 25 FPs, which is good enough for me.  Also consider, Jose Calderon for just a bit less vs. San Antonio’s 28th ranked defense against PGs.

Shooting Guard: James Anderson, PHI ($4,400): Yes, James Anderson.  He hit value last night against the Wizards.  Why not again tonight against a much worse opponent?

Small Forward: Moe Harkless, ORL ($4,400): Arron Afflalo will sit out Sunday’s game and I like Harkless to do some work against the Sixers.  He just represents a much stronger play minus Afflalo.

Power Forward: Elton Brand, ATL ($5,700): If you haven’t noticed, Brand is once again a relevant fantasy player.  The price has ticked up a bit, but he should still be worth his salary tonight vs. a middling Suns defense.

Center: Henry Sims, PHI ($3,600):  By no means am I suggesting that you roster Sims in a cash game.  I just think he’ll get a little run tonight and has a chance to crack his value threshold of 18 FPs and perhaps, might get a little silly in garbage time.  This is strictly an “I must have Kevin Durant in my lineup and I don’t want to be too cheap anywhere else” type of play.

Thank you and good luck tonight !!!
