It is the first Monday of March and teams around the NFL are trying to make some quick decisions as the franchise tag deadline approaches. The deadline for applying the franchise tag expires on Monday at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Several teams have already applied the franchise tag. The Carolina Panthers slapped defensive end Greg Hardy and the New York Jets tagged kicker Nick Folk with the franchise label.

The New Orleans Saints will tag tight end Jimmy Graham and the Graham situation is interesting because technically he is a tight end and would be eligible for $7.035 million, but he is expected to appeal and fight for the wide receiver label which would net him $12.312 million.

Here is how much the tags are worth by position, the franchise tag is the average of the top five salaries at each position for each year while the transition tag starts with the average of the top 10 salaries for each season at each position.
