NFL Free Agency 2014: San Diego Chargers re-sign Donald Butler

The NFL franchise tag deadline is today and teams are starting to decide whether they wan to use it or work out a long-term deal with a player instead. For the San Diego Chargers, the decision for Donald Butler was not an easy one but the team has decided to give him a long-term deal that keeps him in San Diego and off of the open market.

Terms: Donald Butler’s multi-tiered deal with #Chargers. First 3 years worth just under $20M. Option for 4 more years worth $8M to $9.5M per

The Chargers were split about the type of money to give Butler, but both sides reached an amount they liked. Butler won’t be testing free agent waters for a while, and fans are waking put o happy news this Monday morning.
