The NFL deadline to franchise tag a player is at 4pm ET today, and teams are starting to finalize their decisions to either tag a player or let the period pass without applying the tag. The Tennessee Titans have been a team with a lot to consider, and it’s looking like they won’t be using the tag to retain any of their exiting free agents.

Alterraun Verner was really the only player the Titans were even considering tagging, but Jim Wyatt reports that no one will be getting the tag at all.

Verner is drawn heavy interest from the Minnesota Vikings, and that’s likely the place he’ll end up. With a bigger salary cap and more space because of it, there’s a possibility that the Titans bring Verner back, but it’s looking like a trip to Minnesota is far more likely.

Tennessee not using the franchise tag on Verner seems to have signaled then end of his career with the Titans as he’ll become a free agent on March 11th.
