Nearly a month after a crushing defeat to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 48, Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning learned on Monday that he will be able to pursue that elusive second ring once again as he passed his annual neck exam with flying colors, and has been cleared to play this upcoming season.
After missing the entire 2011 season while still with the Indianapolis Colts following neck surgery, Manning has to pass this physical every year after the season to determine whether or not he can come back for another campaign, if he so chooses, and Manning made it pretty clear after that loss in the Super Bowl that he wants to return in 2014.
Manning had one of the more amazing individual performances of any NFL player in history this past season as he broke the single-season records for passing yards and touchdowns.
But there’s no doubt that he wants that second ring, something he’ll now have a clear crack at this year.
