NFL Rumors: Tampa Bay Buccaneers interested in Jason Avant?

After hearing multiple reports suggested the Philadelphia Eagles were going to part ways with veteran wide receiver Jason Avant, they officially did just that on Tuesday, releasing Avant.
Avant, 30, is a nine-year veteran and will likely land on his feet and quickly find a new job.
In fact, one local reporter, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, believes Avant could land with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Eagles cut WR Jason Avant. Potential No. 3 receiver. Worth noting that Bucs GM Jason Licht was with Eagles when Avant was drafted in 2006.

Avant is 30, has averaged 47 catches over last five years, but only 7 total TDs in that span. Again, lines up as potential No. 3 receiver.

Last season, Avant caught 38 passes for 447 yards and two touchdowns in the regular season and added five catches for just 21 yards in the Eagles 26-24 loss to the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs.
Over his career, he has 297 receptions for 3,646 yards and 12 touchdowns.
