Bears releasing Devin Hester, thanks fans on Facebook
By Mike Dyce
It appears that the Chicago Bears are ready to move on from kick return specialist Devin Hester. There were reports earlier in the week that the Bears and Hester were headed towards a split.
From NFL.com:
"NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Devin Hester likely will hit the free-agent market as theBears have not attempted to re-sign him, according to a source who has spoken to the return specialist."
It appears to be true. During an interview with “NFL Total Access,” Hester said he believes that the team wants to go in a different direction. He then went on to thank the fans for their support.
"“I know that Chicago wants to go a different route. All I can say is thanks to the fans for their support. They’ve always been great to me. Always been loyal. I couldn’t have played for a better city. … At the end of my career I do want to retire as a member a Bears,” Hester said Wednesday on NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access.”"
Now he has gone on Facebook to do the same, you can see the post below:
