The Arizona Cardinals appear to serious about improving the speed of their roster with their latest hire. The team announced on Thursday that two-time Olympic hurdle gold medal winner Roger Kingdom has been hired as an assistant to strength and conditioning coach Buddy Morris.

Kingdom won gold in the 1984 and 1988 games.

Before joining the Cardinals, the two-time Olympic champion was serving as the track and field and cross-country programs at California University of Pennsylvania. He also has some previous football experience thanks to his time as a running back for the Pittsburgh Panthers.

Kingdom fills the vacancy on the Cardinals training staff that was left by John Lott, who left the team just one week ago.

We will have to see if the Olympic coaching helps out on the field.
