The Baltimore Ravens are trying to lock down left tackle Eugene Monroe before free agency starts. There are reports that the two sides aren’t closing to putting ink to paper.

From the Carroll County Times:

"The start of free agency is less than a week away, and the Baltimore Ravens and impending free agent left tackle Eugene Monroe remain “nowhere close” to agreeing on the terms of a long-term contract that will keep Monroe in Baltimore, according to a source. It’s still possible a deal could be worked out, but it’s unlikely one will be agreed on before free agency starts March 11, according to the source."

The tampering period starts on Saturday and free agency kicks off Tuesday. The Ravens don’t look like they have time to stop him from dipping his toes in the free agency pool and market. Monroe will generate a lot of interest and is the best tackle available in free agency.
