Since former Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers’ forward Royce White was released by the 76ers and left the NBA to battle his anxiety disorder, there has been a lot of speculation about a potential return to the NBA.

That speculation heated up over the last few week as rumors of the Sacramento Kings’ interest in the former Iowa State Cyclones’ star became more and more frequent.

On Thursday, the Kings officially signed White to a 10-day contract.

White is very talented player and was the 16th overall pick by the Rockets in 2012. The Rockets did not want to adhere to many of White’s request while White thought that because he had a diagnosed medical disorder, the Rockets should attempt to appease him and make him as comfortable as they could.

Instead, he was dealt to the 76ers and played in the 2013 preseason, but was cut before the 2013-14 regular season began.

White did not appear in an NBA game, but played in the NBA’s Developmental League last season. In 16 games (eight starts) for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, White averaged 11.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
