While it appeared earlier in the week that the career of Michael Vick was coming to an end in Philadelphia, the farewell may have been a bit premature. Vick is already being connected to teams in free agency — which unofficially opens at midnight — but his return to the Eagles isn’t as out of the question as earlier reported.

According to Philly.com’s Rob Maadi, the Eagles may be bringing Vick back in 2014 after all, even with all the rumors about him leaving the team.

Per Philly.com:

"Two people familiar with the situation say Michael Vick and the Eagles haven’t ruled out the quarterback returning to Philadelphia. … Both people spoke to The Associated Press on Thursday on condition of anonymity because they’re not discussing contract negotiations publicly."

Vick has been linked to the Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars since being rumored as leaving the Eagles. While he’s still a great free agent candidate, he may not be there for long if the Eagles decide to being him back.

The only stipulation seems to be that Vick believes he can still start, and that’s an opportunity he’ll seldom get if he returns to the Eagles.
