NFL rumors: Antonio Cromartie released by Jets

It was believed that the New York Jets were considering releasing veteran defensive back Antonio Cromartie, and on Sunday afternoon the cornerback sent out a series of tweets that suggest he has been cut by the team.

Cromartie wrote:

I would like 2 thank the Jets organization so much with helpin me grow as leader and a player. S/O 2 my teammates I wish u guys the best.

If Cromartie is available, he will be adding another big name to the 2014 free agent class which seems destined to receive some big pay days. While he won’t demand high dollar, Cromartie should still get a solid offer from potential suitors.
