Patriots free agency rumors: Jason Avant drawing interest from New England

The wide receiver market has been slow to shape up, but veteran Jason Avant seems to be one of the available players generating the most buzz at his position. After being linked to the Kansas City Chiefs on Day 1 of the NFL’s free agency period, Avant is drawing interest from another AFC team.

According to Doug Kyed of NESN.com, the New England Patriots are showing some interest in adding Avant.

While he is a reliable pass catcher that could contribute to an offense for the next few seasons, Avant is not a big name addition that will get anyone excited.
