The Cleveland Browns slapped the transition tag on center Alex Mack but that hasn’t stopped him from looking at other teams during free agency to see where he could end up. While the tag has been applied, Mack has yet to sign the tender from the Browns and is planning on meeting with other teams before he does.

According to Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot from the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Mack is confident teams will meet with him and that he’ll meet with them before anything moves forward with the Browns.

Per Mary Kay Cabot:

"Browns center Alex Mack is still confident he’ll make some free agent visits, and he’s in no rush to sign his transition tender from the Browns."

Things may get hairy between the Browns and Mack, as he can sign an offer sheet from other teams and the Browns would then have to match. According to quotes Cabot grabbed from Mack’s lead agent, it’s sounding like Mack is trying to find a team that could structure a deal specifically so the Browns do not match.

Mack has until July 22nd to sign the tender and won’t be participating at all in offseason programs until he’s under contract with someone.
