The New England Patriots, even with the re-signing of Julian Edelman on Saturday, have been looking for a little more depth at the wide receiver position, and they may have found it in the form of free agent Brandon Lafell as the two sides are closing in on a deal, according to Ian Rapoport.

Lafell, the former Carolina Panthers threat, would be a more than welcome addition to the New England offense, especially with the return of Edelman, for Tom Brady. The lack of weapons on offense were a clear problem last season, and the signing of Lafell would go a long way in fixing that.

Also on Saturday, it was reported that Kenny Britt is also scheduled to meet with the Pats on Sunday, so we could have a completely different looking Patriots offense by the time the weekend is over.
