The Oakland Raiders missed out a couple key pieces of their defense so far this off-season, but have added a couple pieces in return. They’ve recently signed free agent defensive end Antonio Smith to a two year deal and corner-back Tarell Brown.

Now according to Jason La Canfora on Twitter, the Oakland Raiders will meet up with free agent linebacker Dane Fletcher.

Fletcher spent the first several years of his career with the New England Patriots. Last year he played in 15 games with the Patriots and recorded 26 combined tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.

Fletcher has three forced fumbles in his career with 81 total tackles and four sacks. He’s not a huge upgrade for their defense, but he could serve as a little bit of depth at not only the position itself but on special teams.

He was waived back in 2012 after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee during a game against the New Orleans Saints. The 27 year old linebacker shouldn’t cost the team that much if they decide to bring him on board.
