NFL Free Agency: Denver Broncos say they were not aware of Emmanuel Sanders’ having agreement with Chiefs

But if they did know, it’s not like they were going to admit it, right?

Emmanuel Sanders signed with the Denver Broncos on Saturday night. On its own that would not be a huge story.

Controversy followed, however, as the Kansas City Chiefs claimed to have an agreement in place with Sanders’ agent Steve Weinberg. That has stirred up quite the storm of discontent as rival executives shake their heads at Weinberg and his apparently shady practices.

Little if any of these accusations have been directed at the Denver Broncos, but they will still be sure to make it clear publicly that they knew nothing of an agreement with another team for the free agent wide receiver.

With these teams already gunning for each other in the same division, it will be interesting to see if hard feelings emerge or if the controversy will continue to be directed primarily at Weinberg.
