The Kansas City Chiefs thought they had a deal with Emmanuel Sanders — the only problem with that was Sanders didn’t have the same idea. Sanders has taken the agreeing to terms versus actually signing with a team to it’s most literal extent and that has the Chiefs reeling.

After getting burned by a guy who agreed to sign with them but never actually signed with them, the Chiefs are back in the market for a wide receiver. According to ESPN.com, the Chiefs are looking at Devin Hester and Jason Avant to fill their need.

Per ESPN.com:

"The Chiefs have indicated some interest in former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jason Avant. They have also explored signing former Chicago Bear Devin Hester, though it’s unclear whether he’s more than a kick return specialist at this point of his career."

The Chiefs aren’t a lock to land either one, but there’s a pressing need for a major threat of some sort to fill the loss of Dexter McCluster and the near-miss on Sanders. The draft may be an option, but adding a free agent veteran may end up being the best route.
