Darrelle Revis: No better place to win than with New England
Darrelle Revis was the crown jewel in this year’s free agency period in the NFL and after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released the former All-Pro cornerback after trade attempts failed, he had his choice of teams in the NFL to pick.
The five-time pro bowler ultimately picked the New England Patriots, where he will receive $12 million in 2014, and he explained his reasoning today on a conference call with the media.
The Patriots certainly presented a greater chance of winning than the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns and New York Jets who were reportedly interested in trading of signing the five-time pro bowler, but he also had interest from the Denver Broncos who Revis turned down to return to the northeast and who beat the Pats in the AFC Championship Game in 2013.
Revis will be counted on being the difference in getting past Peyton Manning and the Broncos this time around as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick chase another Super Bowl.
