The NFL Draft is right around the corner and the Detroit Lions are hoping to pick up some cheap but talented additions to their roster there. With a looming mega-deal for Ndamukong Suh, and with the big contract handed to Golden Tate, the Lions are starting to get into a pinch for cash, and the draft is one way to pick up cheap yet wildly effective talent to fill needs.

One of those needs is in the secondary, and one of those cheap but talented players is Alabama defensive back Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. According to Lions beat writer Tim Twentymen, the Lions are hosting Clinton-Dix which bodes well for their interest in him.

The Lions went defensive back last year in th draft when they nabbed top prospect Darius Slay. thanks to an injury, he slid to them in the first-round and the team is hoping that Clinton-Dix will have a similar slide, albeit not for injury.

They’ve been looking at a lot of prospects in the past weeks, but Clinton-Dix is no doubt on their radar and the Lions would be thrilled to get him in their secondary for the 2014 season.
