The NFL Draft is a time of year when players that we haven’t all heard of suddenly become massive names to watch when it comes to who your team may pick. Joe Flacco wasn’t a popular name all season long, Tom Brady didn’t make many waves and Colin Kaepernick was virtually unheard of until a year ago but all three are Super Bowl quarterbacks who became notable draft day selections.

San Jose State quarterback David Fales seems more closer to Joe Flacco, as not many casual college or NFL fans know about him but he’s starting to become one of the better prospects in the class. According to Matt Barrows, Fales is drawing interest from the Raiders and 49ers, while the Minnesota Vikings are holding a private workout with him this weekend.

Per the Sacramento Bee:

"Fales said he has a private workout scheduled with the Minnesota Vikings this weekend and expects to have more in the coming weeks."

Minnesota needs a quarterback and they have the No. 8 overall pick in the draft. So the fact that they’re holding a private workout with the quarterback from San Jose State is obviously notable, and so are Fales stats if you look them up.

Guys like Fales are why you do your draft homework, and the Vikings — and others around the NFL — clearly like what they’ve seen so far.
