The New Orleans Saints went out and spend big money to land on e of the top free agent safeties in free agency and that may prompt them to make big moves in the draft to accommodate what seems to be a win now attitude. While they’re not a lock to move up int he draft, beat writer Mike Triplett reports that it’s a real possibility given the Saints history.

Per ESPN.com:

"I will never rule out the Saints trading up for a player they covet in the draft. And for that matter, I won’t ever rule out the idea of them trading down or trading picks for veteran players. … So it’s entirely possible the Saints could move up this year – especially since they’re in a “win-now” mode and approached free agency with that mentality, spending big on safety Jairus Byrd."

Triplett also states that the Saints trading up isn’t a sure-fire thing to happen as the draft is deep and the Saints may get a player that falls to them. But if they covet a top prospect, which would require moving up in the draft, we shouldn’t sleep on the Saints moving around.
