Ocho Cinco, aka Chad Johnson says David Beckham promised him spot on MLS Miami team

It is no secret that former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson, aka Ocho Cinco, is a big soccer fan. Once upon a time Johnson tried out for the Sporting KC Major League Soccer team.
“It’s been a dream come true for me to be on the pitch, man, with so many of these guys who are elite athletes at the top of their game,” Johnson said back in 2011, via ESPN. “I enjoyed it.”
Well his dream of playing soccer might not be done. Apparently Johnson ran into soccer superstar David Beckham at the baggage claim at the airport. Johnson said Beckham, who is transitioning into ownership, promised him a spot on his new Miami MLS club.
Just talked with David Beckham for 20 minutes at baggage claim and he ensured I'll have a spot on the MLS team here in Miami.

Whether it happens or not we have yet to see. At the time, Johnson said after his Sporting KC try out that his dream had been answered.
“I’m satisfied,” he said. “My dream has been answered, to be able to come onto the pitch and play for an MLS team. It doesn’t have to be against someone professional. Just to be out here was enough for me. I can go home. I can die tomorrow and be satisfied. I can go to heaven and tell God, ‘Man, I played professional soccer and I’m good.”
