Coming off a complete dismantling of the New York Knicks, the Los Angeles Lakers hit the road for a pair of games. However they will do so without the services of big man Pau Gasol.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reports that Gasol,  still suffering from symptoms related to his bout of vertigo over the weekend, did not travel with the team when they left for their two-game trip through Milwaukee and Minnesota on Wednesday.

Gasol is officially being listed as day to day, although he has not been cleared for basketball activities after leaving Sunday’s 103-94 win over the Orlando Magic because of dizziness and nausea.

McMenamin also reported that Gasol visited ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. John Rehm and it was determined to keep Gasol back in Los Angeles for rest and recovery.

The former All-Star is averaging 17.5 points and 9.8 points per game for the struggling Lakers, but has only been able to play in 59 of Los Angeles’ 70 games on the season.

In his absence, Chris Kaman will likely get the start at center.

Kaman, who started at center and put up 13 points and nine rebounds, making 5-of-10 attempts from the floor in 23 minutes of action during the Lakers’ 127-96 rout of the Knicks on Tuesday.
