The New York Giants got some good years out of wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, but as is the case rather routinely in the NFL, everyone is replaceable. Nicks has moved on in his career to the greener pastures of Indianapolis while the Giants are looking at guys they can replace Nicks with on their roster.

Ask Tom Coughlin who he thinks can replace Nicks as the Giants No. 2 receiver, and he’ll invest some stock in Rueben Randle.

Per ESPN.com:

"“We have high expectations for Rueben,” Coughlin said, according to the transcript Rich Cimini sent me. “Rueben has to continue to develop, continue to become a better pro — focus, concentration, production on the field, consistency, day in and day out. Practicing. You’ve seen the plays the guy can make. He’s made great plays … We have a lot of belief and stock in his development.”"

Nicks is a harder guy to replace than many will admit, as his absence in the 2013 season highlighted his importance on the Giants roster. But Randle started stepping up in big ways for the Giants late in the year and has proven reliable in the past.

He may not instantly become the best No. 2 option for the Giants, but the team is clearly willing to work on it.
