Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton is headed into the final season of his rookie contract. The Bengals could decide to let Dalton play out the season, uncertain with what they’ll do at the position in the future. If the Bengals don’t like that option, they can try and lock him up before the season starts.

Dalton revealed that the two sides have already begun negotiating a deal.

“There have been talks about it. There have been a couple of proposals sent over and different things,” Dalton told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Monday, via NFL.com. “We’re working. Hopefully, we can get something done.

“I’m not too worried about it. I know in the right timing, everything is going to happen. Obviously, everyone would like to get something done sooner rather than later.”

There is always the option of seeing if a quarterback falls to you in the draft as well, but there are no guarantees that route either.
