It looks like the New York Jets didn’t have much of a chance of bringing back cornerback Darrelle Revis, who they traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year.
Instead, Revis signed with the rival New England Patriots.
They then chased Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, but lost out on him to the New York Giants.
They also cut veteran Antonio Cromartie, who signed with the Arizona Cardinals.
Obviously, there is a huge hole at cornerback and head coach Rex Ryan isn’t happy.
They could be close to bringing in another cornerback.
According to Pro Football Talk, former Miami Dolphins’ cornerback Dimitri Patterson is visiting the Jets.
Patterson went undrafted out of Tuskegee in 2005 and was signed by the Washington Redskins. After a season there, he joined the Minnesota Vikings for a season, the Kansas City Chiefs for two, the Philadelphia Eagles for two and the Cleveland Browns for two. He spent the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
In 2013, he played in six games, recording 19 tackles and four interceptions.
