The Baltimore Ravens made a minor signing of a big player on Friday as the team announced they are bringing back massive defensive tackle/nose tackle Terrence Cody. on a one-year contract, according to Aaron Wilson.

Cody, 25, appeared in 12 games last season, making two starts, recording 15 combined tackles, down from 25 the year before.

The 6-4, 370-pound Cody has never lived up to the billing since the Ravens spent a second round pick on him in 2010 after being a dominant nose tackle with the Alabama Crimson Tide. His best season came in 2011 when he started all 16 games and recorded a career-high 39 combined tackles.

He is strictly a two-down player who brings little to nothing the table as a pass rusher, but if he ever got his weight in check, below the 350-pound range, he would have a much larger impact and prolong his NFL career as this appears to be his last chance to stick with the former Super Bowl champions.
